The doors are the limit

A standard container's door opening is about 234 cm wide and 228 cm high; a high cube is about 258 cm high. Inside, a 10ft is about 280 cm long, a 20ft about 590 cm and a 40ft about 1,203 cm, all about 235 cm wide.

Long items can go in diagonally only if they're narrow. The checker allows for laying an item on its side if that makes it fit. Containers vary by a few centimetres, so confirm tight fits with the operator.
